Universal Health Care Medicare Plans
Universal Health Care has been in business for only 8 years, and is a Medicare/Medicaid health insurance provider based in Florida. They provide managed care services for government sponsored health care programs, focusing on Medicare and Medicaid. They offer a variety of health insurance products, including Medicare Advantage plans in 13 states. Their informational materials and plans are currently pending approval from the Center for Medicaid and Medicare, and are therefore subject to change.
Plan Benefits
Universal Health offers a variety of health insurance products, including Medicare Advantage plans in 13 states. Their plans include:
- The "Medicare Masterpiece® (HMO)" and "Medicare Masterpiece® (PPO)" plans in the state of Florida;
- The Medicare Advantage "Any, Any, Any®" Plans, a private fee for service (PFFS) plan and Medicare Masterpiece® (HMO-POS) in Texas; and
- The Universal Medicare Masterpiece® (HMO-POS) in Clark County, Nevada scheduled to launch in January, 2011.
Medicare Masterpiece plan
One of the popular Medicare Advantage plans offered by Universal Health is their Medicare Masterpiece plan, the PPO, preferred provider organization, plan is detailed below.
- Medicare Masterpiece® (PPO) with Part D prescription drug coverage* covers both Medicare Part B prescription drugs and Medicare Part D prescription drugs.*
- No monthly plan premium in addition to the monthly Medicare Part B premium.
- A $6,700 out-of-pocket limit.
- No referral required for network doctors, specialists, and hospitals.
- You can go to doctors, specialists, and hospitals in or out of the network; although it will cost more to get out of network benefits.
- In patient hospital stays:In-Network benefits include no limit to the number of days covered by the Plan each benefit period; Days 1 - 6: $268 co-pay per day; Days 7 - 90: $0 co-pay per day; $0 co-pay for additional hospital days.
- Skilled nursing facilities:In-Network benefits include: Coverage up to 100 days each benefit period; No prior hospital stay is required. Days 1 - 20: $50 co-pay per day; Days 21 - 100: $128 co-pay per day.
