Team Care Advantage
Team Care Advantage is a Medicare Advantage plan offered by MMAA, the Mennonite Mutual Aid Association. MMAA is currently changing their name and brand to Everence to allow an expanded name and brand recognition. They may continue to offer Medicare Supplemental Plans as Everence, but currently no longer offer their Team Care Medicare Advantage Plans.
Team Care Advantage Plan Benefits
Everence/MMAA has offered both Team Care Advantage and Team Care Advantage Rx, which are Medicare Advantage private fee-for-service (PFFS) plans. Both plans featured the freedom to choose any doctors and hospitals willing to accept the plan, see specialists without referral and travel without losing coverage.
In 2009/2010, many of Medicare's private-fee-for-service providers discontinued their plans or changed policies significantly; in fact, the number of PFFS policies has decreased nearly 75% over the past few years. It is important to speak with your local representatives, either for Medicare or the insurer, to determine the availability and details of these plans.
Everence/MMAA Medicare policies are only offered in specific areas of the country due to their associations with the Mennonite faith. Their coverage areas include counties in Delaware and Indiana.
Plan Details
Everence has yet to release the details of their 2011 Supplemental (Medigap) plans, and the costs are not yet known.
