Maine Senior Health and Medicare Options (ME)

When it comes to finding health care insurance for the elderly in Maine, it's simple. The individuals living in the state who are over 65 years old are eligible for coverage from a Medicare advantage plan. There are four types of Medicare options available in Main, they include Part A, Part B, Part C and Part D*. Part A is the original form of Medicare you receive automatically after acceptance. You receive limited coverage for your hospital stays and visits. Then you can add on other Medicare options to your policy to receive more benefits.

With the Part B plan, you receive coverage for visits to the doctor and outpatient care (sometimes physical therapy expenses are covered). Part B plans offer to pay 80% of your medical expenses, so you are left to pay for the remaining 20% - some people opt to get a private health insurance plan or other supplement health insurance to help cover the gap. The Part C plan combines the benefits you get from the Part A and Part B plans, as well as additional coverage. Then with the Part D plan, discounts for prescription drugs are given. Co-payments and deductibles are usually added to these additional plans, so make sure to check that out before making any decisions.
