The rates for premiums on the private health insurance in Kentucky vary widely depending on the individual and insurance provider. Some may only have to pay about $17 for premiums with a basic Part D plan* and as high as $250 for a premier Medicare plan with additional benefits for prescription drugs.

Humana's KY Senior Program

The program aims to prevent unnecessary trips to the hospital by making sure that seniors have the right medications, transportation to medical appointments, and home-safety measures such as grab bars and ramps.
The program involves a telephonic and field-based team of social workers, nurses, health coaches and Humana managers.
