Kentucky Medicare Advantage Plans (KY)
Exciting things are happening in Kentucky’s medical world and seniors definitely stand to benefit from them. Humana, a company committed to helping employers manage their health care benefits as well as guiding consumers to make informed health decisions, is launching a complex-care management program for chronically ill Medicare members in several states, including Kentucky.
Medicare in Kentucky is a federal health program and is partly administered by private insurance agencies in the state. There are a total of 52 drug plans, 72 Medicare health plan options and 2 plans available for those with special needs. Of course, there is Medicare Part A, which is the original policy given, but you can consider adding on any of the many plans available for extra benefits. The rates for premiums on the private health insurance in Kentucky vary widely depending on the individual and insurance provider. Some may only have to pay about $17 for premiums with a basic Part D plan* and as high as $250 for a premier Medicare plan with additional benefits for prescription drugs.
So when you are looking for the plan for you, you can have the original plan and any add-on benefits you want to include with your Medicare plan. Everyone's policy is different based on their individual needs, budget and lifestyle. The state of Kentucky has a high rate of cancer deaths, so an inclusive Medicare plan is needed to cover the costs for extensive stays in the hospital or for long-term care elsewhere. There are also four Medicaid plans available for the elderly and disabled that have low incomes; they care called Global Choices, Family Choices, Optimum Choices and Comprehensive Choices.Get a quote for a Kentucky Medicare Advantage plan today >>

The program aims to prevent unnecessary trips to the hospital by making sure that seniors have the right medications, transportation to medical appointments, and home-safety measures such as grab bars and ramps.
The program involves a telephonic and field-based team of social workers, nurses, health coaches and Humana managers.
