Connecticut: Types of Senior Health Insurance Coverage (CT)

The primary health insurance for the elderly over 65 in Connecticut comes from Medicare plans. These individuals are also on Social Security benefits. Those enrolled in Medicare automatically receive the Part A plan, but there are others you can add, such as Part B and Part D coverage*. With those two plans, you can receive extra benefits for your Medicare plan. There are some Medicare programs in Connecticut that are unique, while some of the others are pretty standard and are seen throughout the U.S. One of the special Medicare plans in Connecticut is the ConnPace (Connecticut Pharmaceutical Assistance Contract to the Elderly); this is an option for those who are seeking assistance getting prescription drugs. ConnPace is a state funded program for the elderly.
